sleep by calming the mind and reducing insomnia. Some studies suggest that it boosts immunity, helping the body to fight off illness. And finally, an enhancement of self-awareness leading to greater personal growth

Yoga Nidra

Or yogic sleep, is a powerful meditation technique that promotes deep relaxation and healing. It is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, where the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes increasingly aware of their inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This practice is known for its ability to reduce stress, improve sleep, and enhance overall well-being.

Tibetan Bowl Meditation

The practice that involves using Tibetan singing bowls to create soothing sounds and vibrations. The bowls are traditionally made from a combination of metals and are played by striking or rubbing the rim with a mallet. The sounds produced are believed to promote relaxation, reduce stress and enhance meditation by helping to focus the mind and creating a sense of calm.

Healing Touch

Practitioners believe that the body is surrounded by an energy field, called a "biofield" and any imbalances in the biofield can lead to illness and discomfort. By using their hands to gently touch or hover over the body, practitioners can help to restore balance and harmony.

Reiki

A Japanese form of complementary and alternative medicine where practitioners believe that there is a universal life force. They channel this energy through their hands to the client, restoring balance and promoting healing energy (Ki) that flows through all living things. When this energy flow is disrupted, it can lead to illness and imbalance. Reiki practitioners channel this energy through their hands to the client, restoring balance and promoting healing.

Mindfulness Meditation Sampler

Mindfulness is defined as “paying attention , on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.” Meditation is a necessary component to experiencing mindfulness. In this two-part workshop, we’ll explore various forms of meditation and explain its scientific benefits. The main focus is to develop your skill with diversified meditation practice forms. By the end of the course you will have lengthened your practice time and developed a familiarity with meditation to incorporate into daily life. All levels of meditation experience are welcome. This will be led by Cathi Lanci and with her holistic practices. She received her training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at the University of Massachusetts Medical Stress Clinic in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Mindfulness and Taming Stress/Anxiety Monster

There’s an ancient Chinese proverb; “May you live in interesting times.” The present times would certainly fit that description. In this class, we will explore the science of stress and anxiety. Our magnificent body still responds to age-old threats the same way, but new research demonstrates that we can respond to it differently. Mindfulness has proven to help you navigate with more awareness and self care. We’ll practice techniques and skills to help you “tend and befriend” your body.
